MESSAGE FROM THE SHERIFF:

I would like to welcome you to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office web page. Using the web page is a relatively new concept to our office, and I hope you find it informative.

After working for the Sheriff’s Office for approximately 20 years, I was elected Sheriff, starting my first term January 1, 2001. We at the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office are service-oriented and are very concerned about the service that we provide. Feel free to contact us if you know of any way that we could better our service to the community.

Our Sheriff’s Office is currently comprised of approximately 65 sworn Police officers, 35 Corrections officers, and approximately 17 clerical support staff. If you would like to consider a career in law enforcement, Corrections, or clerical work with the Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Office, please feel free to look at the recruiting section of our web page.
